The course is only to members of Anti-Hijacking & Policing SA’s members that want to join the Elite High Risk Unit.
This course is open to any race, male ore female and a 94% pass rate is required.
Our basic training program includes the following curriculum:
Assessment/ Physical Fitness and Strength (PREPCON)
• 3,5‐kilometre run twenty (20) minutes.
• Thirty (30) consecutive and uninterrupted push‐ups in one (1) minute
• Ten (10) twenty‐five (25) meter sprints in sixty‐five (65) seconds.
Endurance
A ten (10) kilometer walk carrying five (5) kilograms in three (3) hours.
Weapons Training – Six (6) Weeks
• The use of assault rifles
• The use of shotguns
• The use of pistols
• Unarmed combat
• Use of Pepper Sprays.
Urban Operations – Eight (8) Weeks
• Urban reconnaissance
• Securing dangerous suspects
• Securing dangerous barricaded suspects
• High‐risk urban operations
• Basic urban tracking
• First Aid and Basic Medical training
• Planning, command, and control of urban operations
• Vehicle Penetration
• House Penetration
